Well it is that time of year that we celebrate our Anniversary.

It has been 3 years since Moderna Cannabis Society opened for business and what a ride it has been. No one could have predicted what our first couple of years would have entailed, but lucky for us, even a pandemic didn’t slow us down.

Well we are just a couple weeks away from the big day.  I haven’t done my shopping, my house is undecorated,  I put Christmas music on and turned it off less than 3 minutes later and I feel a little Grinchy. That being said,  I do have a couple Christmas traditions that really get me in the mood. I am a huge fan of the Advent Calendars. When the kids were little it was chocolate and treats.

So what about Cannabis?

Last year I had the idea to do this but just didn’t have the time to make it happen, so this year I made this my mission.  I have spend many hours sourcing, planning, ordering, organizing and preparing (with the help of Abbie at the store) and finally my vision is ready.   I can’t wait until Monday to open up my 12 Days of Cannabis box and get started!   Will be a great way to finish up the days of work as we inch closer to Christmas day.

If you would have told me 5 years ago, that I would be sitting here writing my blog on Cannabis I would never have believed you. We talked a lot at work about the impending legalization and what that will look like.

So much has changed since 2019. Thousands of legal products are now available and in all varieties and ever expanding. There are products for everyone and more and more ‘newbies’ like me, are finding their way to cannabis.

Aside from gorgeous changing leaves and crisp air, Autumn also brings new products that are perfect for the season, including infused cups-o-jo and decadent caramels. My position offers me a pretty amazing opportunity to try all the treats (lucky me!) but let me tell you, this time around, it was nearly impossible to pick favorites!

Every day there are new products and innovations as the industry grows. Not all of them are successful, but there are more products than ever to satisfy just about everyone. More and more we see consumers that don’t smoke. A lot of these customers used to smoke ‘back in the day’ but now are looking for other options.

Relax…sounds simple enough, but in reality, it doesn’t seem like most people are relaxed these days.   After more than two years of adapting our lives at every turn, I thought the return to ‘normal’ would be an easy transition. Turns out it’s not.  We are getting it from all sides; gas and groceries are crazy expensive, if you were hoping to travel this year it seems that is a huge challenge, the job market is weird and interest rates are high. 

It is that great time of the year, Summer! It has been a VERY long couple of years and it seems like the fun has been fleeting.  Time with friends has become a luxury for many people and the weather hasn’t made any of that any easier the last couple summers. For many, vacation time is also something that has been hard to come by and travel anywhere seems pretty difficult these days.

I am fortunate enough to have a week off work next week and I plan to make the very most of it without leaving my neighborhood.   The idea of fighting crowds at airports to get anywhere is enough to make my skin crawl.   What I really want is a nice relaxing week where I get to just be.  

The beauty of the vape is you can really get the most out of your bud. When I first got my Davinci Miqro, I discovered the beauty of terpenes. Every plant has terpenes, from the herbs in your garden to the trees in your yard and yes, cannabis too. I like to describe terpenes as the ‘essence of the plant’. The flavor and effects of your cannabis is largely attributed to the terpene profile. For a long time, the conversation has really just been about THC level, but there is so much more to your cannabis than that.

Now is the time of year when we take extra time to appreciate the moms in our lives. Moderna sees all kinds of families and moms. Some grown-up children shop with their moms or for their moms, while others, like me, are still trying to persuade their mothers to try something… anything!!
