SUMMER HAS ARRIVED!!

It is that great time of the year, Summer! (Well unless you are a nearly 48 year old woman who is too hot all the time, that is.)   It has been a VERY long couple of years and it seems like the fun has been fleeting.  Time with friends has become a luxury for many people and the weather hasn’t made any of that any easier the last couple summers (I vote for no ‘heat dome’ this year).

For many, vacation time is also something that has been hard to come by and travel anywhere seems pretty difficult these days.

LET'S GET READY FOR SUMMER

I am fortunate enough to have a week off work next week and I plan to make the very most of it without leaving my neighborhood.   The idea of fighting crowds at airports to get anywhere is enough to make my skin crawl.   What I really want is a nice relaxing week where I get to just be.   Where I get to indulge a little and get in some long overdue quality time with the husband and the teenagers.  Our big plans you ask?  Originally it was going to be new shingles for the house, but hubby is dealing with an injury that isn’t going to let him do all the heavy lifting and ladder climbing.  Plan B:  some new flower beds, some landscaping and a whole lot of sitting on the deck.

Oh and the big event for the week, our 21st anniversary!  (Can you believe he still enjoys my company after all these years?  He is a keeper)

COFFEE and CBD

FIRST UP, COFFEE and CBD

Did you know that you can get infused coffee pods??  Pop it in your keurig and in two minutes you are ‘waking and baking’.   Sounds like the best way to start a vacation day.   I might have to bake some cinnamon buns for next week (Have I ever mentioned I am a retired professional baker?)  If you haven’t seen these yet, they are called Boaz Wake and Bake K-cup Coffee Pods, and yes we keep them in stock.  Add to that my morning Monjour CBD gummy and I am set for the day.  The new 30mg Orchard Medley is my CBD of choice these days (and they are sugar free… win win when you are diabetic.

A morning joint

STEP 2, A MORNING JOINT

This is a luxury I rarely get to enjoy.  Being a mom and manager of a store, means I am always on call.  For my week off I will hook the teenagers up with prepaid electric scooter passes and will trust my excellent staff to hold down the fort.   My morning joint of choice you ask??  Without a doubt it is Color Mango Haze.  This has been a favorite for quite some time.  It is the feel-good-all-over strain.    I will be in a great mood and ready to plant some flowers and take some long walks with the dogs.  The husband will probably enjoy one of his new favorites.  Either the Prairie Grass Prairie Berry (this is a Strawberry Cough cross) or some Potluck Orange Layer Cake.   Both great for some daytime R&R

Afternoon cannabis cocktail

STEP 3, AFTERNOON COCKTAILS

There are currently so many new Cannabis Beverages on the market and a few I have been looking forward to trying.   A few of the Versus Rapid Seltzers, maybe a couple of the new sugar free XMG ALT drinks, Tweed Grapefruit for sure and my go to favorite the Blum (this one tastes like a Mojito…yum)   All I need is a tall glass, some ice and a slice of lime and a lounge chair in a shady place.     If it is really hot out, i might need to try the Radsicles - cannabis infused frozen treats for the win.

Outdoor cannabis edibles

STEP 4 - S’MORES AND AN OUTDOOR MOVIE

After some BBQ for dinner and hopefully some time with friends, it will be time for the Hubby.  Time to set up the projector outside and turn on the fire pit.   I don’t eat a lot of sweets, but every once in a while, I get to indulge a little.   A cannabis chocolate on a s'more is definitely the way to go.  If you haven’t tried this, add this to your summer bucket list.  While I typically stick to something simple like a Bernard’s dark chocolate, the new line from Canna Squarz would add an interesting twist to the s’mores…..Root Beer Float and Mini Donuts are just a couple of their new chocolate flavors.   And don’t forget to try the Happy Camper chocolate.  She was made for smores.

Any recommendations on some good feel good movies?   I am a bit out of the loop on what’s new and fun.  Snuggles and laughs are most definitely in order.

Time for bed CBN gummies

STEP 5 - TIME FOR BED

Hopefully after that perfect relaxing day, sleep will come easy, but if not I have just the ticket.   While hubby prefers a nice indica before bed, currently Doja 91k is his magic bed time potion, I prefer a nice CBN gummy.   Depending on how I feel, I have two favorites.   The low dose Sunshower Blueberry Moon or the Ace Valley Blackberry Lemon Dream.  Both taste delicious and are highly effective for me for a long restful night.

Sleep in, and Repeat all the steps above daily for a week is my recommendation!   See you in July where I will be suntanned, relaxed and rejuvenated.  Cheers and happy first week of summer holidays!
